Are you as Quick to Obey as a Minuteman?
America owes a lot to the quick obedience and courage of the minutemen. The War for Independence would have likely been snuffed out if there had not been select groups of militia who trained for war, and who prepared for any battle within a minute’s notice.

A minuteman had to be ready quickly to help protect his village. This meant he had to quickly dress; grab his musket, canteen, and ammunition; and be out the door when called. “Because they were expected to be ready quickly, ‘at a minute’s warning…’ they became known as ‘minute men.’”1
Did you know God wants you to obey instantly when your Mom calls you? The Bible says, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.” Ephesians 6:1. Have you ever disobeyed your parents when they told you to do your chores or any other right thing?
The Bible calls this sin. Sin is anything we think, say, or do, or don’t do that we should do, that breaks God’s Law. The Bible also says, “Thou shalt not steal.” Exodus 20:15. Have you ever stolen anything? And the Bible commands us not to lie.2 Have you ever lied? The truth is, we all have. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23. By sinning, we have earned eternal death. Jesus is the Son of God. He died in our place and came back to life 3 days later. If we believe this, we can repent of our sins and call on Jesus to forgive us. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13. You can ask Jesus to forgive you this very minute. Please do!
